  • Q1 How can I install Java application on my phone?

    1. Please connect the phone to your PC via USB data cable and download the Java program to the SD card in your phone. Please download the “Jar” file or the combination of “Jar” and “Jad” file. Only “Jad” file is not supported. (Here we take the Java program “My Life In New York” for example.)

    2. Please go to menu, select “File manager” --> “SD card” -->Select the Java program that you want to install --> “Options” --> “Install”.

  • Q2 How can I use noise cancellation function?

    Noise cancellation which is also called HAC (Hearing Aid compatibility? is a function that people in the other end can hear you clearly when you are at a noisy environment during call. It is suggested to set it on permanently by going the main menu ->”Settings” -> “Call settings” -> “Noise cancellation” ->Select “on” to activate the function. When you are on calling, pressing “OK” key can also activate or deactivate HAC.

  • Q3 How can I forward incoming call to another phone?

    Please go to menu -> “Settings” -> “Call Settings” -> “Call forwarding” -> “Voice calls” -> “Forwarding all voice calls” -> “Activate” -> “To other numbers” -> Input the number which you want to forward to and save the setting. 

  • Q4 How should I set up email account and use the email function?

    The following are the steps to configure email service on your mobile. We take Google Mail for example.
    1. Please go to menu, press “Email” -> “Create” -> Select your Email account type.
    2. Please input your Email account and Password, then select your Data account.
    3. Please choose your “Protocal” and input the “Incoming Server” and “Outgoing Server”. Then you should
    input other parameters, such as “Incoming Port”, “Outgoing Port” and “Security”. You can ask your email
    service provider for detail setting requirement.

    Note:
    1. Some email services can not be used for free, such as Yahoo! Mail.
    2. Word, PPT, Excel attachments are not supported.
    3. Alcatel phones can’t apply for a new email account. Please make sure to apply an email account on PC
    before you use Alcatel phone to log in email.

  • Q5 Why is there no battery charging icon indicated on my phone when I plug it to the charger?

    Once the battery isn't used for a long time, it is probably that the battery had been over discharged. In this case, the phone would have no charging indicator when you plug it to the charger. It doesn't necessarily mean the battery is broken. You can charge it for at least 10-30 minutes and see if there is anything changing. If the same symptom persists, the battery may be really failed, please send it to our repair center.   • Q6 How can I connect to Wi-Fi?

    Please turn on Wi-Fi and press “Options” in the interface of “Available networks”, then choose “Refresh”. The available Wi-Fi networks will be listed. If there is a lock on the Wi-Fi icon, a user name and password are required for connection. If no, this Wi-Fi network is for free. Please click the network which you want to connect, press “Options” then choose “Connect”. If the connection is successful, a green tag will appear on both Wi-Fi icon and signal icon. The Wi-Fi icon will also show on the top of the idle interface, near the antenna signal icon. 

  • Q7 How can I identify whether Wi-Fi works or GPRS works when browsing the web?

    An E icon or a G icon displays on the top of idle interface when GPRS works. A Wi-Fi icon displays on the top of the idle interface when Wi-Fi works. 

  • Q8 Why couldn’t I sign in Internet via URL?

    Please set up your phone’s WAP parameter by selecting profile between Wi-Fi and SIM for your 

    Internet Service.

    Wi-Fi

    Go to Menu -> “Wi-Fi” -> “Turn on Wi-Fi” -> “choose the available Wi-Fi” -> “Options” -> Connect
    After you have connected to the chosen available Wi-Fi, return to Menu -> “Wap” -> “Setting” -> “
    Select profile” -> “select and activate Wi-Fi’.

    SIM

    Go to Menu -> “Wap” -> “Settings” -> “Select profile” -> “Select and activate SIM”
    After the activation of chosen SIM, return to Settings -> “Edit profile” -> choose the same SIM that
    was activated in last step -> select the profile of the activated SIM -> Activate

    For prepaid SIM, please make sure that you have enough load for the browsing.

  • Q9 How can I transfer files by Bluetooth?

    Firstly please go to the Menu and activate the Bluetooth,
    Secondly please go to the Menu -> “File Manager” -> Select a folder -> “Options” -> “Mark” -> Select the
    file which you want to send via Bluetooth -> “Options” -> “By Bluetooth” -> “Search” -> Select a device
    -> “Pair”.

  • Q10 Why couldn’t I sign in to my Java Applications ( Facebook, M Tweet, Opera Mini)?

    Please set up your phone’s Java parameter by selecting profile between Wi-Fi and SIM for your Java
    network Service.

    Wi-Fi

    Go to Menu -> Wi-Fi -> Turn on Wi-Fi -> choose an available Wi-Fi -> Options -> Connect

    After you have connected to the chosen available Wi-Fi, return to Menu -> Java -> Java network ->
    Wi-Fi -> Activate Wi-Fi

    SIM

    Go to Menu -> Java -> Java network -> Select SIM -> Activate SIM

    After the activation of the chosen SIM, return to Java network -> choose the same SIM that was
    activated in last step -> View Profile -> select and activated the profile of the activated SIM

    For prepaid SIM, please make sure that you have enough load for this service application.

  • Q11 How can I transfer data between phone and PC?

    There are two methods to transfer data between phone and PC:
    Method 1: By using USB cable
    1.If you want to transfer data between memory card and PC, please connect your phone to PC via
    user
    data cable; select “Mass storage” from your phone, a removable disk will then appear in your
    computer.
    Now you could transfer data between memory card and PC.


    2.If you want to transfer data between phone memory and PC, please power off your phone, then connect your phone to PC via user data cable; you will find two removable disks in your computer, one is phone memory, the other is memory card. Now you could transfer data among PC, phone memory and memory card. 
     

    Method 2: By using PC suite
    1.Take V7.0.10 for example. Open PC suite->connect your phone to PC via user data cable ->select “
    Com port” on phone screen, you will see “connected” status on PC suite->Select “Multimedia”


    2.Transfer data from PC to phone: Select a folder-> right-click the file and select “Copy from folder”. 
     
    Select a file you want to transfer, click “OK”.
     
    Then the file will be transferred to your phone.
     
    3. Transfer data from your phone to PC: select a file-> right-click the file ->"Copy to folder”
     
    Select a place that you want to transfer to; click “OK”, then the file will be transferred from your phone to PC.
     

     

     

  • Q12 How can I use my phone as webcam?

    You can use your phone as webcam for instant messaging on your PC.
    1. Please connect your phone to PC via USB cable and select “Webcam” from your phone screen;
    2. Go to “My computer” on your PC and find USB video device under “Scanner & Camera”.

  • Q13 Why couldn’t I make outgoing call and receive incoming call?

    It maybe problem of the phone, network, or your settings, Please perform the following checks:
    1. Make sure you have dialed a valid number and press the pick up call key.
    2. Make sure your mobile phone is connected to a network, and that the network is not overloaded or
    unavailable.
    3. Check your subscription's status with your service provider.
    If the problem persists, please try the following steps:
    1. Check if you had activated call barring. 'Call barring' means you had barred some out-going call (All
    calls, All calls except those in SIM contacts, International calls, International except home) or incoming
    call (All calls, All calls except those in SIM contacts, Roaming). If you had activated, please cancel it.
    2. Check if you had activated flight mode. 'Flight mode' means you had disconnected with service provider,
    and you will not be able to make out-going call and can't receive call. If you had activated, please cancel
    it.
    3. Check if you had activated 'call forwarding'. It is possible that your incoming calls will be forwarded
    directly to your voicemail or other phone. If you had activated, please cancel it.
    If the problem still can't be solved, please bring your phone to an Alcatel Care point for inspection, or
    call the Alcatel Contact Center correspondingly in the country you are located.

  • Q14 Why couldn’t I send MMS?

    Firstly, please make sure your phone has Internet access.
    Secondly, follow the steps below to set up MMS configuration:
    1. Select “Menu”->"Settings” ->"Connectivity” ->"Multimedia message” ->"Edit Profile” "->Create”->
    input the following data:?
    ? Profile name: (Check with your phone service Provider)
    ? MMSC address: (Check with your phone service Provider)
    ? Data account: (Check with your phone service Provider)
    ? IP address: (Check with your phone service Provider)
    2. Select “HTTP” in “IP address”->input the following data:
    ? Use Proxy: (Check with your phone service Provider)
    ? Proxy address :( Check with your phone service Provider)
    ? Proxy Port: (Check with your phone service provider)
    ? Username :( You don’t need to enter the “username”)
    ? Password: (You don’t need to enter the “password”)
    3. After all the data have been entered and saved, a new account will appear. Please activate the
    account, then you could send MMS.

  • Q15 Why couldn’t my mobile be switched on?

    The failure could be related to the phone, the battery or the charger. Before taking your phone to an
    Alcatel Customer Care point for inspection, please perform the following steps:
    Make sure you are using an Alcatel’s battery and charger, which are compatible with your phone model.
    Take out the battery and put it back, following the instructions in the user’s guide.
    Charge the phone with the Alcatel charger for several minutes and then check whether the phone can
    turn on. If you have not used your mobile phone for long time, the battery might be deeply discharged.
    It will take up to 30 mins to activate the battery. In this case, please wait at least for 30 minutes and
    check again.
    If you have an extra Alcatel battery or charger compatible with your cell phone model, you can try using
    them.
    If the problem still persists, please try ‘FAT reset’. (Please check details in ‘FAT rest’ topic.)
    If the problem still can’t be solved, please bring your phone to an Alcatel Customer Care point, or call
    the Alcatel Contact Center according to the country you are located.

  • Q16 Why does my mobile phone turn off automatically?

    The failure could be related to the phone, the battery or the charger. Before taking your phone to an
    Alcatel Customer Care point for inspection, please perform the following steps:
    Make sure you are using an Alcatel’s battery and charger, which are compatible with your phone model.
    Take out the battery and put it back, following the instructions in the user’s guide.
    Charge the phone with the Alcatel charger. If the battery can be charged successfully, please check the
    mobile again.
    If you have an extra Alcatel battery or charger compatible with your cell phone model, you can try using
    them.
    If the problem still persists, please try ‘FAT reset’. (Please check details in ‘FAT rest’ topic.)
    If the problem still can’t be solved, please bring your phone to an Alcatel Customer Care point, or call the
    Alcatel Contact Center according to the country you are located.

  • Q17 Why is my phone always showing low power?

    The failure could be related to the phone, the battery or the charger. Before taking your phone to an
    Alcatel Customer Care point for inspection, please perform the following steps:
    Make sure you are using an Alcatel’s battery and charger, which are compatible with your phone model.
    Charge the battery as indicated in the user’s guide.
    Take out the battery and put it back, following the instructions in the user’s guide.
    If you have an extra Alcatel battery or charger compatible with your cell phone model, please try to use
    them.
    If the problem still can’t be solved, please bring your phone to an Alcatel Customer Care point, or call the
    Alcatel Contact Center according to the country you are located.

  • Q18 Why does my phone show ‘No Service’, ‘Emergency’ or ‘Invalid SIM’?

    ‘No service’ means no network found by your mobile phone. In this case please move to another place or
    switching off and then switch on the handset again to check if network can be found.
    ‘Emergency’ means no available network allows user to register on it to get normal service in your
    location, so only emergency call is available. In this case please move to another place to check if
    available network can be accessed.
    If your phone’s screen shows ‘Invalid SIM’, please check with your service provider if the SIM card has
    any failures. If you are roaming, the network might reject you with some special reasons. In this case
    please switch off and switch on the handset to check again.

  • Q19 Why does my phone show ‘Network key?’ or ‘Reset Key?’?

    Network Key is from your service provider. It appears when you want to use SIM card from another
    service provider. If you don’t know the right Network Key, please contact your service provider.
    For some service providers, if you have input wrong Network Key above certain times, your phone will be
    SIM locked and your phone screen will show ‘SIM card locked! Please contact operator! Reset key?’ In
    this case, even the original operator’s SIM card can’t be used. Please contact your service provider for
    help.

  • Q20 Why do I receive text message sending/ receiving error?

    The failure could be related to the phone, network, or your subscription. Please perform the following
    checks:
    Make sure your phone is connected to a network, which is not overloaded or unavailable.
    Check your subscription’s status with your service provider.
    Check your phone’s memory. If the memory is full, you will not be able to receive message. Please delete
    some content in your phone’s memory.
    Check the service number with your phone service provider. If the number is wrong, you will not be able
    to send or receive message.
    If the problem still can’t be solved, please bring your phone to an Alcatel service center, or call the Alcatel
    Contact Center according to the country you are located.

  • Q21 Why couldn’t my phone take photos or make videos?

    Please check whether your phone’s memory is full. If yes, please delete some files and restart it to check
    again.
    If the problem persists, contact an Alcatel repair center for help. You can check the contact information

  • Q22 How can I set up speed dial? How can I set up speed dial?

    Please go to the main menu-> “Settings”-> “keypad” -> “Numeric keys”-> Choose the key you want to set and press ”Options”->”Edit” > “Directory” > Choose a contact;  Then long press the key you set, the phone will dial the contact directly.

  • Q23 How can I change my phone ringtone, remove power on/off beep and flip beep?

    Please go to the main menu->”Profiles” -> “Options” -> “Edit” -> use navigation key to find “ringtone”, “power on/off beep” and “flip beep”, select your favorite ringtone or silence.
